Travel, Cultural & Paranormal Retreat Participant Waiver

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

WARNING: THIS IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT THAT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DOCUMENT CAREFULLY. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST AGREE TO THIS WAIVER PRIOR TO ATTENDING ANY ROB COAD ADVENTURES EVENT.

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

I acknowledge and understand that participation in a Rob Coad Adventures event, tour, retreat, or travel experience involves inherent risks.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • walking tours and outdoor exploration

  • visiting historic sites and buildings

  • paranormal investigations conducted in low light or dark environments

  • navigating stairs, uneven surfaces, bush tracks, confined spaces, and historic structures

  • travel between locations by bus, motor vehicle, aircraft, ferry, boat, or other transport

  • overnight stays in accommodation venues and private properties.

I acknowledge that these activities may involve hazards including, but not limited to:

  • slips, trips, and falls

  • uneven or undulating ground

  • reduced visibility or darkness

  • confined or narrow spaces

  • environmental conditions such as weather, terrain, or wildlife

  • travel related incidents or delays

  • the actions of other participants or members of the public.

I understand that these risks may result in injury, illness, property damage, psychological distress, or in rare circumstances death.

I voluntarily accept these risks and agree to participate at my own risk.

2. Personal Responsibility and Fitness

I confirm that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in the activities associated with the event.

I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to:

  • manage my own health and wellbeing

  • disclose any relevant medical conditions

  • follow safety instructions provided by the organisers

  • exercise reasonable care for my own safety and the safety of others.

3. Medical Treatment

I consent to receive first aid or medical assistance if required during the event.

I authorise the organisers to seek medical treatment on my behalf in the event of illness or injury if I am unable to do so myself.

I understand that I am responsible for any medical or emergency costs incurred.

4. Property and Equipment

I acknowledge that I am responsible for my personal belongings and equipment during the event.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • paranormal investigation equipment

  • cameras and electronic devices

  • clothing and personal items.

Rob Coad Adventures accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal equipment or property during the event.

5. Travel and Transport

I acknowledge that the event may involve travel by bus, motor vehicle, aircraft, ferry, or boat.

While reasonable care will be taken in organising travel arrangements, Rob Coad Adventures is not liable for delays, cancellations, accidents, or disruptions caused by third party transport providers.

6. Behaviour and Conduct

I agree to behave in a respectful and responsible manner during the event.

The organisers reserve the right to remove any participant from the event if their behaviour is deemed to be:

  • unsafe

  • disruptive

  • abusive towards staff or other participants

  • influenced by drugs or excessive alcohol.

If removed from the event for behavioural reasons, no refund or compensation will be provided.

7. Insurance

I acknowledge that Rob Coad Adventures holds public liability insurance only.

I understand that this insurance does not cover my personal injury, medical expenses, travel disruptions, or personal belongings.

I agree that it is my responsibility to obtain appropriate travel insurance.

8. Media Consent

I grant permission for my photograph, video footage, or likeness to be used by Rob Coad Adventures for promotional purposes, including websites and social media, unless I notify the organisers in writing prior to the event.

9. Event Changes or Cancellation

I acknowledge that the organisers reserve the right to modify the event itinerary, locations, or activities due to weather conditions, safety concerns, venue availability, or other circumstances beyond their control.

In the event of cancellation or postponement due to circumstances beyond the organisers’ control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, or force majeure events, refunds may not be available.

10. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I waive, release and discharge Rob Coad Adventures, its organisers, staff, contractors, volunteers, partners, and venue owners from any and all liability for injury, illness, loss, damage, or expense arising directly or indirectly from my participation in the event.

11. Agreement

By registering for the event, I confirm that:

  • I have read and understood this waiver

  • I accept the risks associated with participation

  • I agree to be bound by the terms outlined above.
