Tasmania Paranormal Retreat
Step into Tasmania’s historic towns, convict built settlements, and quietly mysterious estates on this four day journey. Begin in Hobart with a guided tour of Hobart Penitentiary along the city’s oldest streets before exploring the haunted corners of Rydges Hobart and the nearby Runnymede Estate under the cover of night.
Travel north through the Midlands’ colonial heart, visiting Oatlands, Ross, and other preserved historic towns along the way. Arrive at Brickendon Estate, a World Heritage listed convict farm village, where two nights in original convict built cottages provide an intimate base for exploration and investigation.

Hobart, Tasmania
Meet at Hope and Anchor Hotel, Hobart for group lunch (time TBC)
After meeting the group and introductions, we step straight into Hobart Penitentiary darker past with a guided tour of one of Australia’s richest convict sites, wrought by convict labour for convicts, moving through underground tunnels, solitary cells, the prison exercise yard, courtrooms, and the Gallows.
Later in the afternoon we check in to Rydges Hobart, a grand heritage hotel with its own fascinating stories
In the evening we gather for our welcome dinner before heading out for our first paranormal investigations

Friday, 3 July
Hobart to Brickendon Estate Road Trip
After breakfast we depart Hobart around 9am and begin travelling north through Tasmania’s historic Midlands.This region is home to some of Australia’s best preserved colonial towns and convict built architecture.
Our journey includes stops at several historic locations before arriving at our accommodation for the next two nights.

St Mary’s Anglican Church and cemetery walk in Kempton
Oatlands – historic sandstone town and Oatlands Gaol
Ross – heritage streets, convict built bridge, Ross female factory visit and lunch stop
Arrival at Brickendon Estate

Brickendon Estate Convict Village Focus
Wake up surrounded by history at Brickendon Estate. Breakfast provisions are provided in your cottage, allowing for a relaxed start to the day.During the day we explore more of the estate and its remarkable colonial landscape. Guests can wander through the convict built village, photograph historic farm buildings, or simply enjoy the quiet atmosphere of one of Tasmania’s most significant heritage properties.

Guided heritage tour of Brickendon Estate with one of the Archer family owners
Explore the convict farm village, historic barns, and original colonial buildings
Learn about the early farming settlement and the convicts who once lived and worked on the estate
Later in the day there may be an opportunity to visit a nearby local café, bakery, or pub for lunch.
In the evening we gather for a relaxed group dinner on the estate before beginning our final night of paranormal investigations.

After breakfast in your cottage we check out and begin the journey back to Hobart.The drive south through the Midlands provides one last opportunity to enjoy Tasmania’s historic landscapes before arriving back in the city.
